Location

Casa obrigado can be found to the North of Goa, on the beach of the traditional farming and fishing village of Arambol. It is home to one of the remaining nesting sites of the protected Olive Ridley sea turtles. For this reason, powered water sports (jet skis etc) are definitely not encouraged but the likes of windsurfing and kite surfing have become popular.

Casa obrigado is approximately 1 hour’s travel time from Goa’s Dabolim airport and approximately 40 minutes travel time to the capital Panjim and the original settlement of ‘Old Goa’ where there are still many historic buildings and churches including the tomb of St Francis Xavier.

We are 15-20 minutes away from the large and lively market town of Mapusa (pronounced Mapsa), where you can buy anything from fresh spices to a shoelace!

The village of Anjuna is located 20 minutes away which on a Wednesday transforms into what was the original ‘hippy flea market’.

To the South of arambol, you will find the small bustling village of Ashvim and Arambol.

Within a walk along the beach or a short local taxi ride, you’ll find a choice of several beach bars and restaurants.

Getting here

On arriving at Goa’s Dabolim Airport, we suggest you take a pre-paid taxi which is available directly outside the arrivals hall. Alternatively, we will be happy to organise one of our local taxis to collect you from the airport.

If you are arriving on the Konkani Express from Mumbai (Bombay) to either Pernem or Thivim Railway Stations, we can also arrange for a local taxi to collect you.
